Ring-a-ling

Talking about bells,
Someone once told me, that a girl should never buy bells, she should only be gifted them.
She told me this right when I was about to get myself a very pretty pink terracotta bell... I was sad, I loved it, and so wanted it. But, before I knew it, she had bought that bell and gifted it to me, my very first bell. :)
That happened about 2 years ago, ever since then I have been gifted bells by various people, tiny bells, chimes, pretty bells and so on .... I must admit that, occasionally, when I see a very nice bell in a shop I make my companion buy it for me :P

Bells, literally have such a nice ring to them, don't they ? :)
They are associated with some of the best things in life!
Church bells - for Sunday morning.
Christmas bells - the happiest season of every year
Wedding bell - need I say anything here?

I know that when I have a home of my own, I'm gonna have bells, little and large hanging everywhere. Near the window... at the entrance.... and hiding at various places :)

Enough of my dreaming !

Hope your day has a nice ring to it :)

The Final School Bell

Back when I was at school, the final school bell rang at 3.15pm, so from 2.40 all our faces start becoming brighter and brighter because we know that we'll be home soon. Do you know that feeling? Nice feeling isn't it ? :)
I loved it, the fact that the next day, we will be back again is for that moment forgotten, and it's a feeling of pure pleasure for little things, but ... definitely nice things that are to come.
That's how I'm feeling now.
Why ?
I'll probably see my dad and sis next week, and I'll be going home the end of next week. These will be brief meets compared to the entire life time I've spent with them before I came here.
Distance makes the heart fonder, why? You never know the value of things till you lose it.
I love my dad and sis. I love my family. I've been happy in many places, but I've felt perfectly peaceful only when my family is around me.
So, I eagerly wait for this bell to ring :)

Confused

Thursday, August 13, 2009

I'm confused.
Nothing new in my world right ? :)
I should be used to it by now too !
Hell I should have mastered the art of combating confusion by now !
But... nope, just going round the hurricane again. Something like a periodic spin.

I blame a major part of this on exams though, they give me too much time to sit and let the grey matter work.

What am I confused about ?
This time I don't think I can tell you that either, but what is part of the result of this confusion ?
I have this over whelming need to define myself, be understood.
Of course, the desire to scream on top of my lungs is also predominant.

What I can say is ...I've got 2 options. Have you heard of the force field analysis ? Well, till very recently, I was almost certain that one option was almost the most predominant. Now, .... :( Something has made me wonder if even the other option may be possible. For the second time in my life, both options seem equally appealing. Though, this time, the constraints have been removed. Darn it !
Who is the strongest of them all ?

One of the aspects of anonymous blogging is that you can reveal so much about yourself, yet reveal none of the details that really matter. So ... as much as I wanna pour it all out, I am forced to sign out.

Have a great day :)

Yours truly,
Confused soul.

THE ROAD NOT TAKEN by Robert Frost

Monday, August 10, 2009

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference

IF by Rudyard Kipling

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
' Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
